Stanton Drew
My nan used to tell me that it was good for you to walk barefoot on natural ground, it connects you to the earth she would say
Upon arriving at the Stanton Drew stone circle, I immediately remove my shoes and socks, planting my winter feet into the wet ground. My nan used to tell me that it was good for you to walk barefoot on natural ground, it connects you to the earth she would say as she walked laps of the garden lawn. I touch the present ground, I touch the stones, I hold the stones and I stand on the stones. I try pushing a stone, curiously. I press my face against the stones. Some of them are towering and impressive, others merely emerging from the grass. I feel so small and young compared to the stones, even the tiny ones.
