In March 2018 on a holiday to the Brecon Beacons me and my son Rory, who was then 5, went for a walk up the old Talgarth pass to find a slot burial at the foot of Mynydd Troed, it was wet windy and bitterly cold but none of that bothered Rory who was (and still is ) fascinated by the places people are laid to rest. The site of the burial (the contents long since removed and lost to history) is at the head of the pass overlooking the lower ground of Talgarth and further in the distance Hay on Wye.
It's a moment of my parenthood that will always stay with me and hopefully will remain one of my son's earliest memories.
