Took my 8yro for his first wild camp on dartmoor, one of the few places you can legally do it, went to Stalldown Stone Row on the Blachford Estate, the owner has lodged a legal challenge to the right to camp, he doesnt think me, my kids or anyone else should be able to do this.
The two carparks in the area have already been shut. We talked about the importance of #NoTraceCamping and we had a really brilliant time, a formative moment he will remember. How are we supposed to teach our kids to respectfully enjoy nature if we stop them from accessing it
Our morning peace and our mood was brought down by the local hunt with their 4X4's, horns and shouts across the valley, but it is our peaceful, no trace respectful camping that is the issue
