St. Levan Stone

A Stone Club adventure to the ends of the earth and St Levan church where the St Levan Stone sits in the graveyard.

On a bright winter’s day on the days leading up to Winter Solstice 2021 the Stone Club took a trip down South to the very tip of Cornwall to visit St Levan’s Stone. Lally had read about the stone in Robert Hunt’s ‘Popular Romances of the West of England’ the day before and was intrigued by the legend attached to the stone which included the following verse:

when a horse can ride⁣

with paniers astride⁣

though st levan stone⁣

the earth will be done
