Kernow, Kres, ha Kerensa! / Cornwall, Peace and Love!

Some hardy Bards, along with friends and followers, ventured out on a windswept Bodmin Moor this morning, to celebrate the midsummer Awen ceremony at The Hurlers Stone Circles at Minions, near Liskeard. Despite the blustery conditions, the voice of Bardh Meur/Grand Bard Pol Hodge carried the declaration of peace across the circle with power and clarity, and the ‘Book of Life’ was movingly passed from the older generation to the young.

Attending a Bardic ceremony alters perception of Cornish stone circles from one of ancient monuments that are passively visited, to one of vibrant community centres where identity and continuity can be experienced in profound ways.
