Book of the month January 2022

Michael Dames - The Silbury Treasure

Dames’ truly remarkable book explores Silbury Hill, the tallest prehistoric structure in Europe, as an image of the Great Goddess. First published in 1976, The Silbury Treasure, has (and continues to be) a hugely influential book for many, spawning many other explorations into the cult of the Great Goddess and her image in the landscape.

We can’t recommend it highly enough. A real must for all seekers of stones and ancient history. Michael’s unique writing style and ideas are wonderfully gripping.

Highly illustrated, The Silbury Treasure weaves a compelling journey to the centre of Silbury Hill and back again using folklore, archeology, astronomy and etymology to explore the true meaning of Silbury Hill.
