Book of the Month March 2023

STONEHENGE '85

Our March book of the month is Stonehenge ‘85.

Published by Unique Publications, Bruce Garrard put together this ‘souvenir’ zine to commemorate the pilgrimage to Stonehenge in ‘85 and The Battle of the Beanfield. Featuring news cuttings, photos by Tash (Alan Lodge), and accounts from members of the peace convey, this zine is a fascinating insight into this important moment of history. At times harrowing, it is also a incredible and inspiring message about community and togetherness through violence and discrimination.

‘For Stonehenge is more than a festival, it's a way of life, a celebration of a way of living all year round. For many it's as much a part of the annual cycle as solstice is to summer. Is it really possible to stop the solstice sunrise?’

Bruce still has paper copies available via his Unique Publications website, we have also made a scan of it available on our Substack
